Help Wanted Ad

The last few weeks seem to be a never ending 'Help Wanted Ad'.
  • Seeking: anyone able to cut my toe nails because I can't bend over to cut them, let alone see them.
  • Looking for: capable person to put plates away on top shelf as I can't stretch high enough anymore.
  • Wanted: agile and quick person to run back up the stairs because I forgot the socks for my boys.

Oh, how funny it is that things that were so easy are now so hard. Of course, I am only familiar with the last few weeks of pregnancy with multiples. But, I assume every pregnant woman reaches this point at some time.

Anyone else with funny stories about things you used to be able to do and now can't do? Post your comments so we can all have a laugh.

  1. You are funny! I just can't believe you are still able to go up and down stairs. I was a big blog in bed a good 4 months before my trio was born. Keep up the great work, you are in teh home stretch!!!

  3. Hi Lannie, Guess who? Your mom hooked us up with the article and blog page. How cool!! We are so happy for you and David. Now, you really need us in your lives, because no one knows better then us about raising 3 girls. And I am positive Erin, Ashley and Mandy would give you their 2cents worth. Can we be one of the many aunts and uncles??? Lots of prayers and love to all of you. Not to be negative, but when you get old, you can't bend over to tie your shoes or go easily up and down stairs either. Ashley just called while I typing and wants to know if you want to buy some milk??? Love you, Mr. and Mrs. DOOOWNES!

  4. I actually saw the news article in the local paper. I live in the area and had twins June of 2008 which brought my total children to 5 as well. Just wanted to wish you well.

  5. Hi Elaine, I just read your newspaper article and wanted to say hello. I'm a local(Joliet) mom of an almost 4 year old and GBG triplets that will be a year old on Dec. 15th. I know you already have twins, but if you need any advice on how to survive the early stages of life with triplets, please feel free to contact me!

One thing to note...my doc always referred to the babies as A (Holly), B (Megan), and C(Liam), but were born A(Holly), B(Liam) and C(Megan). So you might want to ask the dr that delivers the babies which position each baby came from.

Good luck with the delivery, and all the chaos that is to follow!

  6. I just read your newspaper article too. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I live in Naperville and tomorrow my quadruplets will be 16 years old! It's obviously been awhile since I had babies in the house, but am also here if you need anything. If I can't help you I can find someone who can! Have you found MOST (Mothers of Supertwins)? They have a lot of great information, a quarterly magazine and also a forum for parents with triplets or more. Their website is www.mostsonline.org. (I'm actually on the board for MOST, so I now a LOT about them! LOL)

Anyway - take care - get LOTS of rest when you can. Take any and ALL help you get from family and friends. Don't be afraid to ask your volunteers to help with laundry or cleaning the house. Besides flu season make sure you are aware of RSV and keep sick people OUT of your house!

  8. Elaine,
Just got a chance to look at your blog.
    You are incredible.
I am due on Dec. 14th and am so miserable I can't imagine having 3 inside me. Of course I am much older so I have that excuse.

Maybe I'll see you when I'm delivering. or maybe our kids will meet in the nursery.
